evelyn r. manangan    producer : writer : production manager

Evelyn Manangan has dedicated more than 15 years to nonfiction and lifestyles video programming and content as a producer, production manager and writer based in New York, California and Colorado for locations worldwide.

With a jump-start in New York City production--literally--on an A&E Biography episode about the first artificial heart, Evelyn found her beat and went with it at MTV, Lifetime and Food Network to nurture a solid work ethic and passionate approach to her work. Whether it’s capturing the complexities of American factory life for NGC, the nuanced Asian kitchen for the Cooking Channel or marketing “Life’s Joy” for Shutterfly brands, Evelyn’s work reflects the skill and attention she puts into it.

Her love of local food, flavor and field producing led to a James Beard Foundation Award in 2000 for an episode on California’s Wine Country shot entirely in Sonoma Valley with wine and food industry legends. A published writer and literary devotee, you can read her sensory experiences on the Bay Area’s groundbreaking writing community at Litseen.com.

When she’s not writing, eating or discovering her latest city, she brings production and development strengths to documentary recreations, non-fiction tv, branded and corporate video content for clients including Smithsonian Channel, Indigo Films (a Global Media 100 company), BBC, NOVA, Shutterfly Inc. and more...

In Fall 2017, Evelyn kicked off Season One production on Smithsonian Channel’s Aerial America 24, an exploration of diurnal rhythms, process and culture in America’s provocatively urban landscapes. Learn more about the series and watch “New York City 24” at Smithsonian Channel.
